Year End Review

Financial Review

"This past year I have had the pleasure of working with our new Treasurer, Bill Strain. Bill's insight has offered strategic changes that result in further financial stability for The Experience Company. Year-to-date we have received just over $10,000 in charitable contributions. Currently, our annual expenses accumulate to approximately $12,800, therefore we hope to raise additional support through the end of the year. Our expenses include CliftonStrenghs Finder assessments and mentor/mentee activities, undergraduate intern scholarships, leadership development events, updating of the Alpha Tau website (NebraskaBeta.com), publishing of The Dragon’s Tale, and the annual Alpha Tau Celebration Event. As the efforts of The Experience Company have proved to be successful over the past few years, we hope you will consider supporting the young men of Beta Theta Pi - Alpha Tau."

"I've gained valuable experience in regard to the financial growth of a new entity. The Experience Company has been in full operation for about four years now. Having been with the team for almost three of those four years, I have had the chance to watch this company develop into an organization that brings great value to the men of the Alpha Tau chapter. I have gained experience not only on the financial side of the company, but also on the strategy side as we have built the brand, purpose, and operations for this company. This experience will serve me well as I graduate and pursue a professional career in consulting."

Internship Review

“So far, we have placed 12 out of our 21 candidates in this cycle, and continue to provide opportunities for growth, such as resume reviews and guest speakers.

Over the course of this year, we have established multiple connections in the finance industry, where most of our applicants were placed. We have also established other connections in other industries, such as engineering, sales, marketing, Business development, and more.

As we move into this new year, we are looking to establish new connections, such as connections with startup companies, and connections with professionals in industries or we can provide shadowing opportunities.”

Mentorship Review

“In continuation with the mentorship program, we had another cycle of mentor and mentee pairings. This year we had 20 pairings. The pairings can be seen at https://www.nebraskabeta.com/blog/tec-new-mentormentee-pairings.

Another step in the mentorship program was making sure these new pairings were building valuable connections and getting the ball rolling on a great mentor/mentee relationship. So far, I can say that many of the pairings if not all are resulting in what this program is about. Building and advising the men of the Alpha Tau chapter for the betterment of the future.

One way we did this was with the Facebook group for the pairings. In this group we provide topics for the mentee and mentor to talk about. These topics range in a wide variety of items, from everyday life to business world applications.”

Media and Communications Review

This year my main focus has been to spread all the good that the company does. Hearing all the different stories, opportunities, and experiences everyone provides has been second to none. By posting success stories each month all can see this as well

While we will still post on the website regularly, a move we are looking to make is to be more active on Facebook. This tool is very useful and is something that everyone can get access too. The page can be seen at https://www.facebook.com/NebraskaBeta.TEC/

Over these next couple months, I hope to continue to spread all the good we are doing and spread the word about the success of the Alpha Tau chapter. Happy New Year.
