At Beta Theta Pi, we use athletics as an excellent way to bond, form friendships, and just plain have fun. Whether competing in intramurals, traveling with a sport club, or cheering on the Huskers, Betas are sure to be there.
Intramurals
The majority of Betas stay involved in intramurals. Many intramural opportunities exist for the Betas and at least one Beta is involved in almost every intramural offered by the University. Competitive teams are formed in the A and B leagues and a C league exists for novice athletes. Football, basketball, soccer, softball, and broomball draw the most attendance in the Beta house but other options are available ranging from singles/doubles and team sports such as volleyball, weight lifting, ping pong, table pool, and tennis.
Beta teams typically find themselves ranked highly in their leagues and often make it to championship games and All-University tournaments. Beta intramurals provide a competitive and enjoyable atmosphere conducive to forming great friendships and memories. Whether you play to win or play simply for fun, your Beta intramural experience will be a positive one.
Other sports
Betas also participate in the club sports offered on campus. These intercollegiate-level activities include everything from crew to dodge ball. If you are an athlete, you can be sure your brothers will be cheering you on.
Of course, Betas are avid Husker fans. Whether leading cheers in the Devany center or crowding the block in Memorial stadium, the Betas always form a large presence. Every fall we share a seating block with a sorority to enjoy the game and each other's company. This is an excellent way to make new friends and cheer on the big red.
