TEC Internship Program Testimonial!

For the October edition of The Experience Company's series of success stories, Alex Ober shares how he found multiple internships with the assistance of The Experience Company.

ALEX OBER (AT 2406)

"Oftentimes finding your first internship opportunity in college can be an extremely stressful process. You can easily be caught in the Catch-22 of needing to gain vital experience to further your career with many companies requiring this experience to give you an opportunity. Therefore, having a connection to not only get your foot in the door but also help you through the process is crucial. The Experience Company did just that.

Members of The Experience Company, specifically Alexi Wellman and Steve Andersen, introduced me to several companies to get my job search trending in the right direction. Among these companies include but are not limited to: Ameritas, Aon Hewitt, and Oath. After providing the initial connection, they rigorously followed up with me to ensure a successful result from said connections. With the assistance of The Experience Company I was grateful to accept an actuarial internship offer with Ameritas in Lincoln during the school year, and with Aetna in Kansas City over the summer.

The Experience Company helped provide me with a unique opportunity to not only work one internship, but two within the same calendar year. Having the luxury of choice, I was able to explore two different fields within actuarial science and gain priceless experience to prepare me for my career path, experience already noted by prospective full-time employers.

I cannot thank The Experience Company enough for their willingness to help a young professional obtain his dream career. They turned a process that can usually be filled with doubt and uncertainty into one with excitement and opportunity. In its short existence, TEC has already experienced a huge success. I cannot wait to see the inevitable growth it will see in the future and to one day pay it forward to future members of Beta Theta Pi.

Thank God I’m a Beta."
